Fayuan Temple

Fayuan TempleFayuan Temple is the second largest temple in Beijing. It is situated in Fayuansiqian Street, Xuanwu District, a short walk south-west of Luilichang and hidden down a hutong not far from Ox Street. Covering an area of 6,700 square meters, the temple contains a number of fine early cultural relics which date from the Ming Dynasty. There are also many fine examples of stone carvings, stone pillars and Buddhist scriptures which are all dating from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The China Buddhism Library and China Buddhism College are also established at the temple.
