It takes about 2½ hours to drive to Jinshanling from Beijing. It was regarded as the most photogenic and most beautiful section of the Great Wall.
Originally constructed between 1368 and 1389 during the Ming Dynasty, the Jinshanling Great Wall stretches 10.5 kilometers across rugged peaks.

After exploring the Great Wall, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant nearby.
Proceed to Chengde in the afternoon and visit the Chengde Mountain Resort.
Located in the north of Chengde Prefecture, was a place where emperors of the Qing Dynasty (1644–1912) spent their summers to escape the heat in Beijing. In 1994, Chengde Mountain Resort and the temples around it were listed by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site.
Occupying an area of 564,000 square meters (about half a square kilometer or quarter of a square mile), it is the largest royal garden in China, even bigger than the Summer Palace in Beijing.

Have lunch at a local restaurant in Chengde today.
Chengde was an ideal destination for royal families to escape the summer heat in ancient times with numerous palaces. A mixture of traditional Chinese style and Tibetan style, it presents a Tibetan experience outside of Tibet.
Pule Temple was built in 1766 for visiting Mongolian and minority dignitaries. The temple combines the styles of traditional Chinese, Mongolian and Tibetan buildings in a tranquil setting.
Putuo Zongcheng Temple is reminiscent of the Dalai Lama's Potala Palace in Tibet. It is considered to be a great place to go if you cannot travel to Tibet, but are interested in Tibetan/Mongolian Buddhism.

After finishing your tour in Chengde, your tour guide and driver will accompany you back to Beijing.
