How to set up mobile payments without a Chinese bank account?Mobile payments cover 95% of scenarios but typically require a Chinese bank card (some foreign cards are supported). Solution: At the Capital Airport Terminal 3 "Payment Service Center", activate payment functions with your passport and obtain a temporary SIM card.
Carry 200-500 yuan in cash: some temples, small vendors, and lockers only accept cash.
Internet access: some international websites (like Google) require a VPN; it is advisable to install one in advance.
3. How does one go about booking tickets for popular attractions such as the Forbidden City? Are there any recommended itineraries for exploring Beijing?
Popular venues such as the Forbidden City and the National Museum require reservations 3-7 days in advance, as no tickets are available for same-day entry (note that the Forbidden City is closed on Mondays).
