Tour Itinerary
An English-speaking guide will greet you at your Beijing hotel lobby with a sign bearing your name for easy identification.
Next, we'll drive to the Simatai Great Wall, situated around 120 km northeast of Beijing, and the trip takes 2 hours to get there. This part of the Great Wall is tough, with steep and unaltered paths, making it quite a challenge.
Arrive at the entrance of the Simatai Great Wall. Upon ticket inspection, proceed to board the round-trip cable car promptly. During the 10-minute journey, glide over lush forests, encountering panoramic views of the wall’s meandering route—an exciting beginning.
Get off at the halfway point. Explore the eastern section by navigating steep, untouched steps, entering historic watchtowers, and admiring the 'Sky Ladder' up close. The cable car makes the ascent easier, leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy the iconic panoramas.
Then, descend via cable car to a mountainside eatery. Treat yourself to local delicacies such as braised pork belly with chestnuts while enjoying the scenic hillside vistas.
After you finish exploring the Simatai Great Wall, go to Gubei Water Town nearby. It's a pretty riverside village that mixes northern charm with water town vibes. Sit down at a local restaurant with views of stone bridges and canals.
