The town is located at the foot of the Simatai Great Wall, where you can explore the quaint streets, engage with locals, and participate in cultural activities available in the town.

The Simatai Great Wall night tour starts at different times depending on the season. From May to October, it usually begins at 17:30, running until 21:40 on weekends and 21:10 on weekdays. This timing allows visitors to explore Gubei Water Town during the day before enjoying the unique charm of the Simatai Great Wall at night.
From November to April, the night tour starts at 17:30 as well, but closes earlier: at 20:40 on weekends and 20:10 on weekdays.
