Tour Details

Day 1Beijing to Shanghai by Train.

You will be picked up and transferred to Beijing South Railway Station to take the high-speed train to Shanghai. The train ride takes no more than 6 hours to get to Shanghai. Upon your arrival, our guide in Shanghai will meet you at the train station and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2Shanghai

Your Shanghai tour starts with the visit to traditional landscape garden - Yuyuan Garden. It is a traditional style complex with an exquisite layout and decorated with zigzagging doorways, dragon-lined walls and numerous rocks and ponds. It is located at a busy marketplace in central Shanghai. You can also shop for some souvenirs at the market. The second stop is the Jade Buddha Temple, one of the most visited Buddhist temples in Shanghai. It was built in 1918, with the main treasures being two jade Buddha statues imported by sea from Burma to Shanghai. Your tour will continue with a "being Shanghainese" experience, which will be a chance for you to see the real lives of local people. At Chaoyang New Neighborhood, you can visit a local food market and be a guest at a local family's home to make dumplings with the family members.

Day 3Shanghai to Beijing by Train.

Today you will visit Shanghai Museum and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Shanghai Museum is one of the biggest and best museums in China. It houses over 120,000 pieces of precious historical and cultural relics, and it is well known for its collection of bronze pieces. There you will see ceramic wares, jade, paintings and many other artifacts. The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is one of the tallest buildings in the world. Towering high above Pudong financial area, it forms Shanghai's city skyline and provides good views over Shanghai City and Huangpu River. Shanghai History Museum, on the first floor of the tower, has nice exhibitions showing Shanghai's history and culture. You will be transferred to the railway station to board the high-speed train back to Beijing.
