Detailed Itinerary: Your Beijing excursion starts by visiting Tiananmen Square where many national celebrations and significant events are held. As a landmark of Beijing City, it attracts thousands of people every day. Then we will step into the magnificent Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is an imperial complex that houses more than 8,700 rooms. It was home to 24 emperors in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Yellow is the dominant color in the Forbidden City, which symbolizes the supreme power of the royal family.

Lunch is at a great local restaurant which serves authentic local dishes. After lunch, hop on a rickshaw to ride through the narrow alleys. As the symbol of Beijing City, Hutong has its own layout which is dotted with courtyards, which looks like an orderly chessboard.

You will have the chance to learn kite making from a local craftsman at the Hutong area. A kite is a tethered aircraft which was first developed approximately 2,800 years ago in China. Follow the instructions and make your own kite with the materials we have prepared. The joy of kite flying is greatly increased when we make our own kites and have the satisfaction of seeing them rise gracefully in the sky.

Especially for the students'groups, our guide will teach some Chinese words in the remaining days, such as how to greet people, how to make self-introductions and some words that you may find useful when shopping.

Lunch is at a local restaurant near Mutianyu which serves farmhouse dishes.

In the afternoon, we will drive back to the city to visit the holy altar, the Temple of Heaven, where emperors came every winter to pray for a good harvest. Different from the dominant yellow color in Forbidden City, red and blue are used in the Temple of Heaven. The Temple of Heaven covers a huge area where some parts have been a place for local people's entertainment and exercise. Have fun by flying the kites you made yesterday on the open ground.
