Are you a student/retired person or a person who is traveling in China and would like to spend some time in/around beautiful Guilin?

CITS has a position available for a native English speaker to work - PART TIME in our office in Guilin.

The main duties are to work with our IT team to ensure the English on our web site is correct and to help our employees to improve their English on the phone, and in their emails.

In return for this we will provide a furnished apartment in Guilin and pay for electricity and other utilities. You may also be able to join some of the tours that we operate in this area, and of course you’ll have plenty of free time to explore the many delights of our beautiful area.

We will also be able to help you to get 3 - 6 month visa to China by sending you an Invitation Letter, which you can use to support your visa application.

Work:

The amount of time spent on each of the following will vary according to our needs and your skills and preferences, but the main areas are:
1. Website:

Review pages for:
a)Correct English (grammar, spelling, vocabulary)
b)Appropriate English (language polishing, marketing focus, cultural aspects, expression)
c)Organization and navigation (categories, classification, labels)
d)Content (review new content, contribute additional pages if required)

2.Communications
a)Check correspondence between staff and customers and give weekly one-on-one feedback.The main focus is on correct (and appropriate) English, and good understanding of customer requests
b)Review and update standard templates which are used in customer correspondence
c)Provide additional coaching and group activities to help improve telephone and spoken English

3. Cross Cultural
Improve understanding and awareness of cross cultural differences, and the impact these may have on customer expectations and responses.

4. Travel products evaluation
Help us to improve our travel products and the standard of service provided by our travel advisors and tour guides. For example, what travel routes, programs or hotels western travelers are likely to prefer… This may involve traveling away from the office from time to time.

Accommodation:

We will provide an apartment close to our office (within 15-20 minutes walking or an easy busride to our office). There will be a living room, a bed room, small kitchen and a bathroom in the apartment with hot water shower. It will be furnished with AC, washing machine, refrigerator, bed, bed sheet, chairs and table. A cell phone can be provided upon request, but the service charge will beyour responsibility.

Working time per day: 5 days a week, 5 hours a day minimum.
