Daily Itinerary

Day 1 ( )

To Beijing

Upon Arriving Beijing, be met and transferred to your hotel with your private car and English speaking tour guide.

Day 2 (B,L) Beijing

Visit Forbidden city, The Temple of Heaven, The Tian'anmen Square, Enjoy Kunfu Show.

- The Forbidden City: the Forbidden City was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties carried out their administration and lived. Now it is open to the public as a palace museum where people can see the great traditional palace architecture, enjoy the treasures kept in the palace, and learn of the legends and anecdotes about the imperial family and the court

- The Temple of Heaven: The Temple of Heaven was the place where the emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties worshipped heaven and prayed for good harvests. The emperors visited the temple three times a year: on the 8th day of the first lunar month to pray for a good harvest; during the Summer Solstice to pray for rain; and during Winter Solstice to give thanks for a good harvest. This is a good place to watch people practicing Taichi each morning

- The Tian'anmen Square: Located at the center of Beijing City , where you can visit Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, China Mao's Memorial Hall.

- Kungfu Show: You don't have to be a martial arts enthusiast to appreciate the incredible feats of strength, with fists, feet, swords, and other weapons. Kungfu expert display their kicks, punches and use of weapons with uncanny speed, power and agility.

 

Day 3 (B,L) Beijing

Visit Mutianyu Great Wall, Dingling, The Sacred Road, Enjoy Roasted Duck at Qianmen Quanjude.

- Mutianyu Great Wall: One of the seven wonders in the world and the symbol of China.

- Dingling: The Underground Palace of Dingling was unearthed during the period 1956 to 1958. The whole palace was made of stone. It consists of five high palaces - the front, the middle, the back, the left and the right palaces. It is the tomb for the mausoleum of Emperor Zhu Yijun, the thirteenth emperor, and his two empresses.

- The Sacred Road: The road is guarded on both sides with stone statues by which the ancient emperors went to hold a memorial ceremony for the ancestors.

- Roasted Duck at Qianmen Quanjude : In the evening, enjoy the Peking Roasted Duck which is renowned as the most delicious food of Beijing. Qianmen Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant(Old Duck)

 

Day 4 (B, L, )

Beijing

Visit Hutong , the Lahma Palace.

- Hutong : Hutong is a kind of alleyway peculiar to Beijing. Surrounding the Forbidden City, many of these small windy alleyways were built during the Yuan (1206-1341), Ming(1368-1628) and Qing(1644-1908) dynasties. In the prime of these dynasties the emperors, in order to establish supreme power for themselves, planned the city and arranged the residential areas according to the etiquette systems of the Zhou Dynasty. The typical buildings in Hutong are quadrangles-a compound with houses around a square courtyard. A tour to the Hutong will be escorted a visit to a local family, having a cheerful talk with the family member to see how life goes on within these traditional architectures. And also we will visit one primary school in the Hutong, knowing more of Beijing and its people. And also we will visit one primary school and a flee market in the Hutong, knowing more of Beijing, its people and distinctive culture.

- the Lahma Palace: Yonghe Lamasery, a Yellow Hat Tibetan lamasary and one of the city's finest and most celebrated temples.The buildings encompass the Han, Mongol, Manchu and Tibetan architectural styles and the brilliance of the blue, green and gold detail on the sharp red pagodas is simply stunning.

 

Day 5 (B,L) Beijing To Chongqing

Transfer via: Flight TBA

Chongqing to Yichang

transfer via: Yangtze cruise Yangtze River (2200-1300)

You will be transferred to the airport in time for your flight and fly to Chongqing after a visit of The Summer Palace. On arrival Chongqing, be transferred to the pier and board the ship to Yichang. Visit Goose Neck Park, Panda Room in Chongqing Zoo, Ciqikou Old Town.

- The Summer Palace: The Summer Palace in Beijing is an outstanding expression of the creative art of Chinese landscape garden design, incorporating the works of humankind and nature in a harmonious whole. - Goose Neck Park: Where tourists can take a bird's eye view of the whole city of Chongqing.

- Panda Room in Chongqing Zoo: Where you can see Giant pandas.

- Ciqikou Old Town: street of Hundreds' Years old. Take a walk to Ciqikou old street where you can see local shops, old wooden houses, old pier, tea houses, local Sichuan street performance and so on.

 

Day 6 (B,L,D)
Shore excursion to Fengdu Ghost City or New Wanxian County(0730-0930).You have the otpion of visiting Baidi City in the late afternoon.
-Fengdu is where the devil lives, according to Chinese legend. They say that spirits go to heaven, and evil goes to Fengdu. The town is overlooked by Ming Shan Hill, home of Tianzi, the King of the Dead. The whole place has an eerie feel to it with deserted streets, tower blocks, empty shops and banks. The only people here are those who make a living from visiting cruise boats.
- Baidi City: Also known as the White Emperor City, Baidi City clings to the hills and cliffs of a peninsular jutting out into the river. It is a miniature city of temples and gates on Baidi Hill. The city is well known as "the Poet’s City", because it has been visited by many scholars in the past, who have left many literary relics. It is also known for two famous legends, "The Seven Hundred Connected Barracks were Burned", and "The Orphan who put Trust in Baidi City".

 

Day 7 (B,L,D)
Shore excursion to Shennong Stream(1000-1330).
-Shennong Stream is another tributary of the Yangtze River, and its fast-flowing, crystal clear water runs southwards through deep gorges. The stream races past large and small karst caves, flocks of swallows, sheer cliffs, deep gorges, waterfalls, three-colored springs, rapids, the ancient plank path, a suspended coffin in the cliff, groups of ancient tombs and marvelous karst formations.

 

Day 8 (B,L)
Yangtze To Yichang
Shore excursion to Three Gorges Dam site(0800-1000). Arrives in Yichang at 1300 after your lunch onbaord.
- Three Gorges Dam, the largest water conservancy project ever undertaken by man and it has been a dream for several generations of Chinese people. The construction of the dam formally began in 1994. The body of the dam was completed in 2003, and the whole construction will be competed in 2009. It will be 2,335 meters long, 185 meters high, 18 meters wide on the top and 130 meters wide at the bottom. Since Sep 1st, 2005, the first 1000 tourists each day get access to the top of the dam and enjoy different kinds of photo opportunities.
