Your Beijing tour starts with a visit to Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is a landmark of Beijing City where many national events and flag raising ceremonies are held. Surrounding the square, it has many significant constructions including the Great Hall of the People, the Monument to People's Heroes, the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao and the National Museum of China. We will continue our tour to walk into the best preserved imperial complex – the Forbidden City. There are over 8,700 rooms in the Forbidden City with the main halls and palaces on the axis and other rooms symmetrically dotted in the east and west. To avoid the cheap tourist eateries, we will arrange a great local restaurant which serves authentic local dishes. After lunch, we will visit the old Beijing Hutong. See the sights of Beijing's yesterday on a rickshaw. Interact with local residents with a family visit. There are a lot of skillful people living in the Hutong area and you will have a chance to learn how to apply facial make-up for the Beijing opera.

After lunch at a local restaurant near Mutianyu, we will drive back to the city to visit the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties worshiped Heaven and prayed for a good harvest. The highlights of the Temple of Heaven are: the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest, the Circular Mound Altar, the Imperial Vault of Heaven and The Echo Wall. Flying kites with your kids at an open air ground at the Temple of Heaven will be a memorable moment for your family.
