Detailed Itinerary: Your guide will pick you up from the airport upon your arrival and take you to the Beijing Hotel. Dinner is at your own arrangement and your guide will give you some suggestions around your hotel.
Day 2
Place & Transport: Beijing
Today's Activities: The Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Hutong Tour in Xicheng District, Treasure Houses, Li Heng Tang Pearl Store
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at Courtyard 7 Restaurant, Chinese Dinner at Hepingmen Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant
Detailed Itinerary: Today we will take a visit to Tiananmen Square, situated in the hinterland of downtown Beijing, recognized as the largest city square in the world and the place that has witnessed most of the important historical events. Walking northward through Tiananmen Square, we will enter the entrance gate of the Forbidden City, which is a renowned imperial architectural complex and has been listed as a World Heritage Site; it is counted as a must see site in Beijing. The Treasure House in the Forbidden City has thousands of pieces of priceless items on display.
After lunch at a great local restaurant, we continue our trip to hutong in Xicheng District, admire the traditional courtyard house and get up close to local life by an hour’s rickshaw ride. After the tour, we will arrange to visit a pearl shop.
Dinner is included tonight at the Hepingmen Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant, which is the biggest and most magnificent restaurant of Quanjude serving crispy roast duck.
Day 3
Place & Transport: Beijing
Today's Activities: Hiking from the Jinshanling Great Wall to Simatai Great Wall
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch at Si Ma Tai Restaurant
Detailed Itinerary: Today we will hike from Jinshanling Great Wall to Simatai Great Wall, with the total length around 10 kilometers and taking 4 hours. This section of the Great Wall is less crowded and provides a magnificent view of the Great Wall as most parts of the wall are dilapidated and there are only a few remnants. Lunch is included en route.
Day 4
Place & Transport: Beijing
Today's Activities: Temple of Heaven, Exterior visit of Beijing Olympic Stadiums(Bird's Nest and Water Cube), Summer Palace with boat Cruise and the Garden of Virtue and Harmony
Meals: Breakfast, Chinese Lunch
Detailed Itinerary: We will take you to the Temple of Heaven after breakfast, the world's largest ancient temple and altar complex which the Emperor used to communicate with God in Heaven. It is built in red and blue because it is an inviolable altar.
On the way to the Summer Palace we will have an exterior visit to the Beijing Olympic Stadium (Bird's Nest and Water Cube) from a distance; we will stop for a while and you can take pictures.
After lunch at a great local restaurant, we will drive to the largest and the most well preserved imperial garden in China – the Summer Palace. We will combine the boat cruise on Kunming Lake and a typical inner garden of the Garden of Virtue and Harmony, which consists of the Theater Building and the Hall of Nurtured Joy.
Day 5
Place & Transport: Depart Beijing, Flight not included
Today's Activities: Hotel to airport Transfer (Beijing)
Meals: Breakfast
Detailed Itinerary: Your five days Beijing Tour will end today, your guide will take you to Beijing Capital International Airport to board your onward flight.
Tips: Jinshanling Great Wall and Simatai Great Wall are now the mature areas for visiting as most parts of the path are in good condition after being renovated Only a small section attached in between is without repair, but is absolutely safe to walk through; the dangerous section of the unilateral wall, flyover and ladder behind Simatai are blocked for visitors.
