Day 1Beijing

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the suburb of Beijing to visit the magnificent sections of the World Heritage Site of the Great Wall - Badaling and Juyongguan. First we head for the Badaling Great Wall, the most well preserved and popular section for sightseeing, known as an important ancient defense work with 16 watchtowers and beacon fires set high and steep in the mountain ridge. A round trip cable car is available for visitors up to the opening place in the wall and back to the bottom; this provides a spectacular view of the scenery around and the reservoir under the cable car. After lunch at a great local restaurant near Badaling, we will head to section - Juyongguan. It was first built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and designed as a crucial pass of the Great Wall. Stay overnight in Juyongguan Guest House near the Great Wall. Please be aware that the facilities of the guest house are not as good as those in the city.
