4-Day Essence of Beijing Tour(without hotel)

Upon your arrival, our guide will pick you up at the arrival hall of the airport. Please look for the meeting sign with your name displayed on it. Our driver will take you to the Guilin Hotel. Dinner is not included. Our guide can give you suggestions.

After breakfast our guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel. The first stop is Tiananmen Square which is the entry to the Forbidden City. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several key events in Chinese history.

Going through Tiananmen Square we come to the Forbidden City. This is the former Imperial Palace, from which 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties ruled China for 500 years. The entire palace area occupies 72 hectares. Here you will not only learn Chinese history, but also have a view of China’s ancient architecture.

Lunch is arranged at a great local restaurant.

After lunch you will experience Hutong by rickshaw. Hutong has traditional courtyard houses which are now fast disappearing. During the rickshaw ride, you will have a short visit to see a local family.

After breakfast, our guide and driver will pick you up from the lobby of your hotel. Today’s activity is to explore the Mutianyu Great Wall. After 2.5 hours’ driving, we get to the Mutianyu Great Wall. It is the least crowded section of the Great Wall. The cable car will take you to a good section where you can have a walk through the watchtowers and enjoy superb views as it snakes across the hills and mountains. Lunch is arranged at a great local restaurant. You will go back to Beijing city in the afternoon and go on to visit the Temple of Heaven. It is a group of Taoist buildings where the emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties visited for annual prayer ceremonies for good harvests. A duck dinner at Quanjude Restaurant is included.

After breakfast, our guide and driver will pick you up from the lobby of your hotel. The Summer Palace is your last stop in Beijing. It is the best preserved and the largest imperial garden in China. After lunch our guide ad driver will escort you to the airport.
