Islam was officially introduced into China in 651 AD by envoys to the Tang Dynasty emperor. It has greatly developed since then and resulted in many Muslim mosques, other Muslim sites, and Islamic believers. The oldest and largest mosque in Beijing is Niujie Mosque.
