Beijing Airport Transportation

Beijing Capital International Airport is accessible by four expressways.

  • The Airport Expressway was built and officially put in operation in the 1990s. It starts from Sanyuanqiao at the northeastern 3rd Ring Road to Terminals 1 and 2, running totally 20km. The Urban Expressway which starts from Dongzhimen area at the 2nd Ring Road was opened and put into use recently.
  • The 2nd Airport Expressway was opened in 2008. It runs 16kms, from Pingfangqiao , Yaojiayuan Road at the eastern 5th Ring Road directly to Terminal 3.
  • The Northern Airport Line, opened in 2006, is an 11.3 km toll road that runs east from the Jingcheng Expressway to Terminals 1 and 2.
  • The Southern Airport Line, opened in 2008, is a toll road that runs from the Jingcheng Expressway to the eastern 6th Ring Road at the Litian Bridge. The Southern Airport Line intersects with the Airport Expressway and 2nd Airport Expressway, and enables drivers to reach all three airport terminals.

By Airport Express (Subway)

The Airport Express of the Beijing Subway connects the Beijing Capital International Airport with Beijing’s city center. The Airport Express opened on July 19, 2008 and runs 28.1 kilometer (17.5 mi) with only 4 stops of Dongzhimen, Sanyuanqiao, Terminal 3 and Terminal 2. By Airport Shuttle Bus

There are 9 regular airport shuttle bus lines connecting Beijing Airport and Beijing urban area and another 6 Inter-city Shuttle bus lines connecting Beijing city and the cities nearby.

Airport Shuttle Bus Ticket Counters

T1: Gate No. 7 (inside) on F1

T2: Gate No. 9 to No.11 (outside) on F1

T3: exit of Zone A, opposite of the exit of Zone C on F2; next to Gate5, 7&11 on F1

T2: Gate 13-18 on F1;

T3: West Gate on F1;

Free Terminal Shuttle

Free Terminal Shuttle Bus is available between Terminal 3 and Terminal 2 and 1 in turn. The buses set out every 10 minutes from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., and every 30 minutes from 11p.m. to 6.a.m the next day. The bus just takes 15 minutes for one-way between terminals.

By Taxi

Taxi service from the airport to Beijing is available. It costs 100RMB minimum (includes an expressway toll of 15RMB), paying by meter. After 23:00, you will pay more due to the rise of charge in night time.

T1: outside Gate 3 to 5 on F1

T2: Outside Gate 3 to 7 on F1

T3: Please refer to the signs inside the terminal building

Tips:

  • Please pay attention to the charge standards on the windows of the taxi, and the service supervision card of the taxi driver.
  • Road toll and bridge toll will be afforded by passengers.
  • Please ask the taxi driver for invoices and take down the car number if necessary.
  • Please take a taxi with official certification at the airport. Don’t forget your belongings when getting off.
